Family Mediation Services
To assist in the divorce process, we offer family mediation services. In divorce mediation, a divorcing couple meets with a neutral facilitator to discuss all issues, including child custody and visitation issues. In most cases, the couple works out an agreement without needing the assistance or interference of the courts. When necessary, we call upon outside experts, such as real estate appraisers, CPA's and financial advisors.
Family mediation is also recommended when families cannot agree upon the care of an elderly parent or when there is a disagreement with the disposition of a parent's home (the "family" home). Mediation provides a forum for family members to voice their opinions, clarify facts from rumors and work together to find a solution acceptable to all parties.
Attorney Steve Hirsch is a highly trained mediator with over 17 years of mediation experience and is listed as an approved mediator by the Rhode Island Family Court system.
Steve was chosen to write, as a respected Mediator in RI, the Chapter entitled "Mediation and Other Dispute Resolution Alternatives" in a book to be published and offered for purchase to RI Lawyers and Professionals.
